US Congressman Thomas Massie has alleged that the war with Iran has had a major negative impact on the stability and wealth of the United States. He claims that the country has suffered greatly militarily and economically due to the decisions of the Trump administration.
In a post on the social media platform ‘X’, Massie wrote, ‘The United States has been significantly weakened due to the war with Iran.’ He alleged that the war has weakened the US missile defense system, reduced fuel reserves, killed military personnel, increased consumer prices and increased the country’s debt.
Massie said, ‘This administration has exhausted our missile defense system, reduced oil reserves, pushed our men and women to the brink of death, increased consumer prices, increased debt and ignored the domestic needs of the country; all for Israel. All their fault.’
The Republican lawmaker’s comments are being seen as an open criticism of the Trump administration’s Iran policy. Massie has previously criticized US military interventions and spending abroad, but there was no immediate response from the Trump administration to these allegations.
