Former President Md. Sahabuddin leaves Bangabhaban

Two days after resigning from the post of President, the 22nd President of Bangladesh Md. Sahabuddin has left his official residence Bangabhaban. Today, Sunday (July 26), at 2:25 pm, he left Bangabhaban and left for his residence ‘Green Villa’ in Gulshan, the capital.
Earlier, he resigned from the post of President on July 24. Although the President was elected for a five-year term according to the constitution, he served for about three years and three months. During his term, he performed various constitutional duties of the state and participated in important state programs. With his resignation, his term as President officially ended. And by leaving Bangabhaban on Sunday, his stay at the official residence of the President also ended.
It is to be noted that Md. Sahabuddin took oath as the 22nd President of Bangladesh on April 24, 2023. Following his resignation on July 24, 2026, a notification was issued appointing Speaker of the National Assembly Hafiz Uddin Ahmed as Acting President.
