Md. Sahabuddin may leave Bangabhaban today

Newly-departed President Md. Sahabuddin has been staying at Bangabhaban since submitting his resignation. He also held a farewell meeting with officials and employees. He is scheduled to leave Bangabhaban today (July 26) and go to his residence in Gulshan.
Basically, Md. Sahabuddin resigned from the post of President citing health reasons almost two and a half years before the end of his term. According to the constitution, since the post was vacant, Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmed took over as the acting President.
Immediately after the resignation, the question arose – where will the newly-departed President leave Bangabhaban? It is learned that Md. Sahabuddin will leave Bangabhaban and go to his flat in Gulshan in the capital. Necessary preparations have been made there. Security has also been increased there.
Meanwhile, even after assuming the charge of the acting head of state, Hafiz Uddin Ahmed is staying at the official residence designated for the Speaker. Security has been strengthened there. The PGR-SSF has taken control of the area. Although he will remain at his residence, he will conduct his official activities from Bangabhaban.
