Road blockade continues in Uttara today demanding the resignation of the Education Minister; traffic stopped
Students have joined the movement demanding the resignation of the Education Minister after the HSC exams. They had announced to start the nationwide movement after 1:30 pm as per the pre-determined time. Today, Wednesday (July 15), they gathered in front of the BNS Center in Uttara in the capital and blocked the Airport-Dhaka-Mymensingh road. Traffic on this important highway has been stopped due to this incident.
The students said that this movement will continue until all their demands are met. Meanwhile, the police are alert with water cannons at the protest site. However, they said that they do not want to get involved in any kind of conflict with the students. It is worth noting that earlier on Tuesday (July 14), students had blocked various places in the capital to protest the holding of the HSC exams amidst rain and waterlogging. From there, they demanded the resignation of Education Minister ANM Ehsanul Haque Milon.
