July 15, 2026: How much is a 22-carat gold bhori?

The price of gold in the domestic market has further decreased due to the latest adjustment. As per the decision, this precious metal is being sold in the domestic market at the latest adjusted price from today, Wednesday (July 15). The Bangladesh Jewelers Association (BAJUS) reduced the price of gold in a notification issued on Tuesday morning. On that day, the price of this precious metal was reduced by Tk 2,158 per bhori.
The notification said that the price of pure gold in the local market has decreased. As a result, the new price of gold has been determined considering the overall situation. The new price has come into effect from 10 am on Tuesday. As per the decision, the price of 22-carat gold in the domestic market, including VAT, has been determined at Tk 2,19,808 per bhori (11.664 grams). In addition, 21-carat gold is being sold at Tk 2,09,894 per bhori, 18-carat gold at Tk 1,080,267 per bhori and traditional gold at Tk 1,47,316 per bhori.
Bajus said that this price will be effective in all jewelry stores until further orders. However, wages will be applicable as per the jewelry design. Since VAT is attached to the selling price of gold and silver jewelry, VAT cannot be collected separately from customers. Also, Bajus’ previous rules will remain in force for the exchange and purchase of jewelry excluding specific VAT, wages and stones.
Earlier, the Bangladesh Jewelers Association last adjusted the price of gold on the morning of July 13. On that day, the price of 22-carat gold per bhori was reduced by Tk 2,216 and the price of gold per bhori including VAT was fixed at Tk 2,21,966. In addition, according to the conventional method, the price of 21-carat gold per bhori was fixed at Tk 2,11,993, 18-carat gold per bhori at Tk 1,82,075 and 1,48,774. Which came into effect from 10 am that day.
In this regard, the price of gold has been adjusted 91 times in the country’s market so far this year. Where the price has been increased 44 times, reduced 46 times and VAT has been adjusted 1 time. And in the last 2025, the price of gold in the domestic market has been adjusted 93 times; where the price has been increased 64 times and reduced 29 times.
