Jatiotabadi Shangskritik Jot to Work Unitedly for the Promotion of Culture, Humanity and Values
The first meeting of the newly formed Executive Committee of the Chattogram District Branch of the Jatiotabadi Shangskritik Jot was held yesterday, Monday (13 July), at 7:00 PM in the conference hall on the second floor of the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB), Chattogram Centre.
The meeting was chaired by the Convener of the Chattogram District and cultural personality Dilshad Ahmed. It was conducted by Member Secretary Dr. Mohammad Isa Chowdhury. During the meeting, members held detailed discussions on the organization’s ongoing activities, future plans and various contemporary issues.


Among those present were Executive Committee members Dr. Zubayer Al Mahmud, environmentalist Mohammad Ali Shaheen, Engineer Mohammad Kamruzzaman, Mahbub Sumon, Altaf Hossain, Mousumi Chowdhury, Engineer Kamrul Hasan, Engineer Abul Bashar, Towhidul Islam Rana, Kamrul Hasan Riyad, Fowzia Sharmin Shampa, Nadia Tanmin, Dr. Ziaul Haque, Mohammad Ilias (Ilu), Shihab Uddin Riyad, Dr. Harun, Dr. Raihan Uddin, Dr. Arfatul Islam Mizbah, Dr. Abhi Bhowmik, Samia Ahmed Chowdhury, Mohammad Forkan, along with all other leaders of the Executive Committee.

The meeting adopted several important decisions aimed at making the organization’s activities more dynamic and well-organized. In light of the recent flooding in South Chattogram and the hardships faced by affected communities, the Chattogram District Branch of the Jatiotabadi Shangskritik Jot decided to organize a free medical camp in the flood-affected areas. The leaders also reaffirmed their commitment to standing beside the flood victims by providing medical services and necessary humanitarian assistance.

In addition, the meeting decided to observe July Bipolo Day on 5 August with a series of programs. These will include a discussion meeting commemorating the July Mass Uprising, the screening of a documentary highlighting incidents of repression during the tenure of the previous government in Chattogram, and a children’s painting competition titled Remembering the July Revolution.
The speakers emphasized that the Nationalist Cultural Alliance would work collectively to strengthen its role as an active and people-oriented organization dedicated to promoting culture, humanity, and democratic values. They also stressed the importance of expanding the organization’s humanitarian initiatives alongside its cultural activities, particularly during times of social crisis.
