Young man killed in family dispute in Old Dhaka
A man hacked his wife Sumon (40) to death with a sharp weapon over a family dispute in a house on Nazimuddin Road in Bangshal, Old Dhaka. It is learnt that he was a drug addict. He was found bleeding from a four-storey house on Zamindar Goli on Nazimuddin Road at around 11:30 am today, Tuesday (July 7).
He was rescued and brought to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), where doctors declared him dead at around 12:30 pm. Sumon is the son of Nabi Mia of Kamalganj Upazila in Habiganj. He was working at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).
His second wife Nasima Akhter, who brought him to the hospital, said that he lived with a daughter in that house on Zamindar Goli. Sumon’s first wife Dolly also lives in the same area.
Sumon went to Nasima’s house on Monday (July 6) night. That night, Tk 1,500 was stolen from Nasima’s house. She also saw Suman taking drugs in the bathroom. Later, in the morning, the two started arguing over these issues. At one point, Suman started beating Nasima severely and bit her on the stomach. He even brought a sharp iron object and hit Nasima with it. At one point in the fight between the two, the sharp object pierced Suman’s chest. When bleeding started from there, the second wife immediately brought him to DMCH Hospital. However, the doctor declared him dead after examination. DMCH Hospital Police Camp In-charge (Superintendent) Md. Faruk said that the body has been kept in the morgue. There is a wound on the left side of his chest.
