Speaker returns home
Speaker of the National Assembly Hafizuddin Ahmad Bir Bikram has returned home after attending the funeral of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. He arrived at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka at 11 pm yesterday (July 6). Earlier, the Speaker left Dhaka for Tehran on July 2. He paid tribute on behalf of Bangladesh at the state funeral and condolence meeting of the slain Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in Tehran.
In addition to praying for the peace of the slain Ali Khamenei’s soul at the condolence meeting held at the Grand Masalla in Tehran, the Speaker met with high-ranking leaders including Iranian President Masoud Pazhoqian. At that time, he expressed condolences and condolences to the bereaved Iranian nation on behalf of the government and people of Bangladesh.
Speaker Hafizuddin Ahmad highly praised the constructive role of Iranian Speaker Ghalibaf in implementing the recently signed peace agreement between Iran and the United States. In addition, Iranian Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibof has officially invited him to visit Bangladesh at a convenient time. It is worth noting that Ayatollah Khamenei was born on April 19, 1939 in Mashhad, northeastern Iran, and was martyred on February 28, 2026. He was 86 years old at the time of his death.
