Two workers killed after brick-laden truck falls into ditch in Brahmanbaria
Two workers were killed when a brick-laden truck lost control and fell into a ditch on the side of the road in Kasba, Brahmanbaria. The accident occurred on Monday (June 29) morning in the Mandarpur area of Badayor Union of the upazila. The deceased were identified as Masuk Mia (18), son of Arab Mia, and Arman Mia (17), son of Farhad Mia, residents of Baishwamora area of Sarail upazila of the district. The truck driver and his assistant were injured in the incident.
Kasba Police Station SI Abdur Rahim said that the truck was heading towards Chargach area after loading bricks from a brick kiln at around 7:30 am. When it reached Mandarpur area on the way, the driver lost control. As a result, the truck fell into a ditch on the side of the road and overturned. The two workers in the truck died on the spot. He further said that the truck driver and his assistant, who were injured in the accident, were rescued by locals and sent to Brahmanbaria General Hospital.
