Bangladesh Jewelers Association (BAJUS) has reduced the price of gold jewellery in the country’s market by a maximum of Tk 3,266 including VAT to Tk 2,25,290 per bhori (11.664 grams). BAJUS announced this in a press release on Monday (June 29). The new price will be effective from 10 am today.
It said that considering the overall situation, the price of gold jewellery including VAT was unanimously fixed in the meeting of the BAJUS Standing Committee on Price Determination and Price Monitoring. At this new price, the price of 22-carat gold per bhori in the country’s market is now Tk 2,25,290. In addition, the price of 21-carat gold per bhori has been fixed at Tk 2,15,142, the price of 18-carat gold per bhori is Tk 1,84,758 and the price of traditional gold per bhori is Tk 1,50,932.
Bajus said that this price will be effective in all jewelry stores until further notice. However, wages will be applicable according to the jewelry design. Since VAT is included in the selling price of gold jewelry, VAT cannot be collected separately from customers.
