India: Domestic non-coking coal prices remain stable w-o-w

Domestic 5,000 GCV non-coking coal remained stable w-o-w at INR 5,500/t, while 4,500 GCV coal was unchanged w-o-w at INR 4,050/t, as per BigMint’s assessment. Frequent Coal India subsidiary auctions ensured ample coal availability during June, although only 20-50% of offered volumes were allocated. While select grades fetched healthy premiums, others cleared near base prices, encouraging buyers to rely on domestic coal and keeping imported coal procurement largely requirement-based.
