Will take action if Iran does not comply with the agreement: Trump
US President Donald Trump has warned that if Iran does not comply with the agreement made with Washington, then he will take necessary action. Trump said this while talking to reporters.
Donald Trump said, ‘If Iran does not fulfill the terms of their agreement, or if they do not behave properly, then I will do whatever is necessary.’
Meanwhile, Trump claimed that the money released for Iran was supposed to be used only to buy food from the United States. However, Iran’s semi-official Tasnim news agency quoted the governor of the country’s central bank, Abdolnaser Hemmati, as saying that Tehran has no obligation to buy agricultural products or agricultural inputs from the United States under the current memorandum of understanding.
Trump also said, ‘All the money released will ultimately come back to buy food, which they need very much. They have 91 million people, but they cannot meet their own food needs. So the money we are giving away will ultimately go back to our farmers.’
Meanwhile, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, the speaker and chief negotiator of the Iranian parliament, said that the administration and control of the Strait of Hormuz will remain in Iran’s hands. He made the remarks after returning home after talks with the United States and Israel on ending the ongoing conflict.
Ghalibaf added, ‘The Strait of Hormuz will never return to its pre-war status. It will be managed under the supervision of the Islamic Republic of Iran under international law.’
