Military operations in Lebanon to continue: Netanyahu
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that military operations in Lebanon will continue. Defense Minister Israel Katz and Army Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Yal Zamir said in a joint press conference that strict measures will continue to prevent any threat from Lebanon.
They said that the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) will continue to work to repel threats to its soldiers and civilians, destroy terrorist infrastructure and maintain a security zone in southern Lebanon.
The statement also said that the safety of Israeli civilians and soldiers will not be compromised in any way and that this matter will be given the highest priority. Prime Minister Netanyahu, the defense minister and the army chief also spoke by phone with top officials of the Northern Command on the matter.
