Prime Minister leaves Dhaka for Malaysia on state visit

After forming the government, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has left Dhaka for a visit to Malaysia and China. He left Dhaka on a Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight at 2:45 pm today, Sunday (June 21). He is accompanied by his wife Dr. Zubaida Rahman. In addition, he is accompanied by some members of the government’s cabinet, the Prime Minister’s advisor, senior government officials and personal officials.
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman will arrive in Kuala Lumpur in the evening and will hold a formal meeting with the country’s Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim the next day, June 22. The main topics of discussion will be the opening of the labor market, gaining ASEAN membership and a free trade agreement. Several agreements, including cultural exchanges, are likely to be signed.
Meanwhile, the Prime Minister will directly attend the ‘World Economic Forum’ in Dalian, China from Malaysia on June 23. During this time, he is likely to meet several world leaders. On the other hand, Tarique Rahman will hold a bilateral meeting with the Chinese Prime Minister on June 25. Thirteen memorandums of understanding and four agreements are expected to be signed during this bilateral visit. After the visit, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman will return home on the night of June 26.
