Classrooms and offices flood when it rains
When it rains, water from the road crosses the school grounds and enters the ground floor classrooms and offices of the old building. As a result, the activities on the ground floor are stopped. Teachers said that when it rains, water from the Chittagong-Cox’s Bazar highway flows over the school grounds and enters the ground floor classrooms and offices of the old building. Although the municipal authorities have built a drain in the middle of the road, due to the lack of a proper drainage system, rainwater easily enters the school.
As a result, rainwater accumulates in the school yard and the land around it. Acting principal of the school, Muhammad Matin, said that this misery has to be endured throughout the monsoon season. Teachers and students are suffering due to this.
Teachers say that due to water accumulation in the school area, movement in the classrooms is being disrupted and various problems are being created in conducting normal teaching activities. Health risks and environmental problems are also increasing due to water accumulation for a long time. The school authorities have drawn the attention of the upazila administration and the municipality authorities in this regard.
