Two worshippers injured in firing by miscreants during Fajr prayers

In Khulna’s Daulatpur, miscreants shot two worshippers during Fajr prayers. The incident took place at around 5:30 am today (June 14) at the Paschim Kashipur Power Plant Jame Mosque in the metropolis. The injured are – Mosque Committee Secretary Lokman Hakim (45) and Alam Mandal (55). Lokman Hakim is the son of deceased Jabbar Sheikh of North Kashipur area. On the other hand, Alam Mandal is the son of deceased Abdul Khalek of the same area.
Police and local sources said that during Fajr prayers, some miscreants entered the mosque and opened fire on Lokman Hakim. At that time, worshipper Alam Mandal, who was standing nearby, was also shot. Lokman was seriously injured when the bullet hit his head. As his condition is critical, he has been sent to Dhaka for advanced treatment.
On the other hand, Alam Mandal was shot in the head, left side of the neck and right hand. He was quickly rescued and admitted to Khulna Medical College Hospital. However, hospital sources said that he is now out of danger. In this regard, Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP) Assistant Commissioner Md. Abdur Razzak said that the police went to the spot after receiving information about the incident. The police have started an investigation to identify the cause of the attack and those involved.
