Four members of the same family commit suicide in India
Police have recovered the bodies of four members of the same family from Tivli village in Malegaon taluk of Washim district of Maharashtra state, India. Among the deceased are a woman and two children. It is believed that they all committed suicide. Indian media outlet NDTV reported this information in a report on Sunday (June 14).
Police said that the body of a male member of the family was found hanging. Later, the bodies of his wife, son and daughter were recovered from a well. Sub-Inspector of Shirpur police station Imran Pathan said that on receiving information, the police reached the spot, recovered the bodies and started a preliminary investigation.
He said, “We received information around 4:30 pm that a man from Tivli village committed suicide by hanging himself and his wife and two children jumped into the well. After that, the police quickly reached the spot and started a preliminary investigation.” He added that the four bodies have been recovered and sent to the morgue. The autopsy is not yet completed. The autopsy will be conducted tomorrow. Only then will the real cause of death be known. Police said an investigation into the incident is underway.
