Two brothers drown in pond in Narail

Two brothers named Abu Bakar (5) and Omar Faruk (2) drowned in a pond in Bhatia area of ​​Narail Municipality. This tragic incident took place today, Wednesday (June 10) at around 10 am. The two deceased children are the sons of Majedul Sheikh, a van driver from Bhatia village.
According to family and local sources, this morning while feeding their younger son Omar Faruk, the mother fell asleep. Then the two children left the house to play. When she woke up around 10 am, the mother started looking for them in various places around the house.
At one point, a search was conducted in a pond near the house with the help of locals. The two children were rescued from the pond in an unconscious state around 10:30 am. They were rushed to Narail Sadar Hospital and the doctor on duty declared them dead.
Narail Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Ajay Kumar Kundu said, “The incident of the drowning of the two brothers is very heartbreaking and painful. This incident has cast a shadow of grief over the area. The atmosphere has become heavy with the cries of relatives.”
