1 killed in collision between truck and covered van in Gopalganj

A man named Masud Rana was killed in a head-on collision between a truck and a covered van in Gopalganj. The accident occurred near the Seba Green Line filling station on the Dhaka-Khulna highway at around 7:30 am today (Jan 9). The deceased Masud Rana (35) is the son of Abdus Sattar of Nagarkand upazila of Faridpur district.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Muksudpur police station Abdullah Al Mamun confirmed the death in the accident. Eyewitnesses said that a Dhaka-bound freight truck collided head-on with a covered van coming from the opposite direction. Masud Rana, the helper of the covered van, was seriously injured and trapped inside the vehicle.
Local people, fire brigade and police reached the spot and rescued him and took him to Muksudpur Upazila Health Complex, where the doctor on duty declared him dead. Bhanga Highway Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Sohel said that two vehicles involved in the accident have been seized. Traffic on the highway was disrupted after the accident, but it was later restored to normal.
