Yamal to keep beard and moustache if he wins World Cup
Young Spanish star Lamine Yamal, who is waiting for his World Cup debut, has made an unusual promise to his fans. He said that if Spain wins the World Cup, he will not shave his beard and moustache for three weeks. He also announced that he will give away 100 Beats headphones as a gift as part of the celebration. In a video posted on his YouTube channel, the 18-year-old footballer said that he will fulfill this promise if he wins the World Cup title. This will be the first World Cup for the Barcelona winger.
Talking about his experience playing in a major tournament, he recalled the memories of winning Euro 2024. According to Yamal, it is normal to feel pressure and nerves in the first match of the tournament. However, he has learned that even if the start is not as expected, you have to be patient and focus on your game, because a major tournament is a long-term struggle.
Yamal also expressed his feelings about the Ballon d’Or. He admitted that at one point he thought the award could be his too. But later he realized that he was not mature enough and did not fully appreciate the importance of the award. Therefore, he sees Ousmane Dembele’s victory positively.
Referring to his relationship with Dembele, Yamal said that the French star has given him regular advice and provided him with emotional support during difficult times. He considers Dembele’s role important in his personal and professional development. Spain will face Peru on Monday in their final warm-up match before the World Cup. The team will then play against Uruguay, Saudi Arabia and Cape Verde in Group ‘H’ in the main tournament.
