Sohel Rana’s father Zakir Hossain and mother Shahnaz Begum, who were sentenced to death in the controversial child Ramisa rape and murder case, have said that they will appeal to the High Court, requesting life imprisonment for their son. They told this to media personnel in Maheshchandrapur, Singra, Natore, after the verdict was announced on Sunday (June 7).
Sohel Rana’s father Zakir Hossain said, “My son does not live at home. A few days ago, I suddenly came to know that he killed a child in Dhaka. He was sentenced to death in that incident. We want his life imprisonment. If the government wants, it can give my son’s life. We will appeal to the High Court in this regard. But we do not have the financial capacity to appeal.” It is worth noting that the court sentenced Sohel Rana and his wife Swapna Khatun to death this afternoon in the rape and murder case of child Ramisa, which has been discussed across the country.
