Israeli soldier killed in clash with Hezbollah in Lebanon
An Israeli soldier was killed in southern Lebanon, bringing the number of Israeli soldiers killed in the ongoing conflict with the Lebanese armed group Hezbollah to 23. The Israeli army confirmed the information in a statement. The army statement did not reveal the name of the soldier who died. The soldier was identified as Nehorai Leizer. Leizer, 19, was a member of the 601st Combat Engineering Battalion and was killed in action in southern Lebanon.
The Israeli army said in a separate telegram that Leizer was killed in the incident and another soldier was seriously wounded. A total of 24 Israelis have been killed in Lebanon since the conflict began on March 2. Of these, 23 were soldiers and one was a civilian contractor.
