Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has expressed hope that Pakistan will soon be able to host the next round of talks between Iran and the United States. He also noted that Islamabad is continuing its efforts to mediate between the two countries. According to Middle East Eye, he made these remarks in a post on social media.
“Pakistan will continue its efforts to establish peace with the utmost sincerity and we hope to be able to host the next round of talks very soon,” Shahbaz Sharif wrote in a post on social media. Pakistan is playing a key role in facilitating diplomatic contacts between Washington and Tehran. Both sides are seeking an amicable solution to the ongoing conflict.
Earlier, US President Donald Trump said that a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been essentially finalized in the ongoing ceasefire talks to end the US-Israeli war over Iran. Trump also said that the deal will reopen the Strait of Hormuz. However, he said it is still awaiting final approval from negotiators from the United States, Iran and other relevant countries.
