Father and son killed in Feni bus accident
A father and son riding a motorcycle were killed in a Feni bus accident. The incident took place on Tuesday (May 12) morning in the Lalpul area of the Dhaka-Chittagong highway in Feni. The deceased were Mohammad Nurul Alam and his son Nur Hasnat Nirob. Nurul Alam is an ambulance driver by profession. Their home is in Baktarmunsi Bazar of Sonagazi upazila in Feni.
Witnesses said that Nurul Alam and his son Nur Hasnat Nirob were returning home on a motorcycle on Monday morning. When they reached Hafezia area, a Daudkandi Express Paribahan bus from the side of the Dhaka-bound lane of the highway ran over the motorcycle, killing Nurul Alam on the spot. His son Nirob was seriously injured at the time. He was rescued and taken to Chittagong Medical College Hospital, but he died on the way.
In this regard, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Mahipal Highway Police Station in Feni, Md. Asadul Islam said the bodies of the deceased are at the morgue of Feni’s 250-bed General Hospital. The police have seized the vehicle and kept it at the police station. The bus driver has fled. The case is pending.
