Religious Affairs Minister Kazi Shah Mofazzal Hossain Kaikobad said that the government will request that the attacks on minority Muslims in the Indian state of West Bengal stop. In addition, Bangladesh will not be given the opportunity to oppress minorities and I will resign from the ministry if communal security is not ensured. He said these things at the BSRF meeting held at the Secretariat today, Monday (May 11).
The Religious Affairs Minister said that India is a huge country. They cherish democracy, for this I respect them. If they accept the minorities of that country as one of their own and consider them as part of the people and protect their security and rights, then I will respect them even more.
He also said that what is happening in India cannot be allowed to happen in Bangladesh. If necessary, I will resign from the ministry, but I will not tolerate oppression, injustice and oppression of minorities here. Meanwhile, regarding the opposition party, the Religious Affairs Minister said that a good opposition party is a mercy of Allah. But instead of constructively criticizing the government, the opposition is trying to embarrass it.
