Thunderstorms expected in 7 divisions, river ports on alert
Stormy winds at a speed of 45-60 kilometers per hour are likely to blow from the west/northwest over 14 districts of 7 divisions of the country. At the same time, there is a possibility of rain or thundershowers, the Meteorological Department said. This information has been given in the weather forecast for the country’s inland river ports till 6 pm today, Sunday (May 10).
It said that rain/thunderstorms with gusty winds at a speed of 45-60 kilometers per hour are likely to occur temporarily in Rangpur, Pabna, Bogra, Tangail, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Faridpur, Jessore, Kushtia, Noakhali, Comilla, Chittagong, Cox’s Bazar and Sylhet regions from the west/northwest. River ports in these areas have been instructed to display warning signal number 1. The organization said that the day and night temperatures may remain almost unchanged throughout the country during this period.
The highest temperature recorded in the country in the last 24 hours was 37.2 degrees Celsius in Rangamati. On the other hand, the lowest temperature was recorded in Saidpur at 20.2 degrees Celsius. At the same time, the highest rainfall of 26 mm was recorded in Dinajpur.
