Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has said that honesty, merit and efficiency will be the policy in public administration appointments and transfers. He said that every post in public administration should be considered very important. One should be ready to perform duties in any part of the country.
He said these things at the inaugural session of the District Commissioners’ Conference at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium in the capital on Sunday (May 3) morning. The Prime Minister said that just as the government is not permanent, no post in public administration is permanent. Poverty has increased in the country, unemployment has increased. All the institutions of the country have been destroyed. However, the government is trying to find a solution without increasing the suffering of the people.
Reiterating the government’s commitment to building a just state, Tarique Rahman said that everything in the election manifesto and the July Charter signed before the people will be implemented in phases. He urged the district commissioners to be careful about using electricity in markets and shopping malls after 7 pm every day. Prime Minister Tarique Rahman walked from his office in the Secretariat to the conference venue at Osmani Memorial Auditorium at 10:15 am. At that time, ordinary people standing on both sides of the road greeted him and the Prime Minister responded to their greetings by waving.
