8 workers killed in truck-pickup collision in Sylhet

Eight people were killed in a head-on collision between a truck and a pickup truck in South Surma, Sylhet. All the deceased were construction workers on their way to work. The accident occurred near the Telibazar Bridge in South Surma on the Sylhet-Dhaka highway at around 6 am today (May 3).
Sylhet Metropolitan Police Deputy Commissioner (South) Md. Riazul Kabir confirmed the accident. The deceased were going to Sunamganj for construction work in a DI pickup. They died on the spot after colliding with a truck coming from the opposite direction on the way.
Meanwhile, two motorcyclists were killed after being hit by a truck in Nachal, Chapainawabganj. The accident occurred at around 5:30 am today in the middle of the Benipur area on the Nachal-Adda road.
