Moulvibazar youth killed in Ukraine-Russia war
A young man named Muhibur from Moulvibazar Sadar Upazila was killed in a Ukrainian drone attack in Russia during the Ukraine-Russia war. Four months after he went missing, his family members broke down in tears upon receiving the news of his death. The entire area is mourning this incident. Muhibur’s family is devastated after losing the only breadwinner of the family. Muhibur Rahman, a young man from Moulvibazar, had been missing in Russia since last January. Four months after he went missing, his parents and siblings learned of his death in a Ukrainian drone attack in Russia on April 17.
Muhibur, a child of a poor family, went abroad to improve his family’s fortune. His dream was to return home and restore the family’s prosperity. Before that dream could be fulfilled, he collapsed in the arms of death. Now there is uncertainty. Will Muhibur’s body ever return to the country? Muhibur’s parents hope that if the government takes the initiative, it will be possible to bring his body back to the country.
The deceased’s family and relatives said that Muhibur went to Russia on a student visa three years ago. Nine months ago, he returned to the country on vacation and got married. He disappeared within a few days of leaving the country. The family members did not know that Muhibur had joined the Russian army on a contract basis. Muhibur’s family and the entire area, who lost their lives in a Ukrainian drone attack while fighting for Russia, are in mourning.
Just before his death, Muhibur took refuge in a bunker on the battlefield. He was killed on the spot in a Ukrainian drone attack inside the bunker. The news of his death first reached the family through a person who was providing food to the Russian soldiers.
Moulvibazar Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md. Rajib Hossain said, “We have received the news of Muhibur’s death in Ukraine and efforts are being made to bring back the body and provide financial assistance.” The next step will be taken after discussions with higher authorities.
