Deal with US still far away: Iranian speaker
Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibof said that there has been some progress in ongoing talks with the US to end the war, but they are still far from a final agreement. “We are not even close to the final stage of the talks,” he said in a speech on national television.
He added, “There has been some progress in the talks, but there are still many gaps and some fundamental issues remain unresolved.” Ghalibof said, “The US has not achieved its goals and Iran still maintains control over the vital sea route, the Strait of Hormuz.”
“If we have accepted the ceasefire, it is only because they have accepted our conditions,” the Iranian speaker said. “The enemy wanted to impose their own conditions on them. Therefore, it is important to establish their rights, and in this case, negotiations are part of the struggle.”
