Prime Minister to inaugurate canal digging program in 54 districts today

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman will inaugurate the canal digging program in 54 districts of the country today, Monday (March 16). The program will be inaugurated by digging the Sahapara canal in Dinajpur’s Kaharol upazila. In the first phase, 1,200 kilometers of rivers, canals and canals will be dug in 6 months and 20,000 kilometers will be dug in phases in 5 years.
According to the Prime Minister’s itinerary, the Prime Minister will leave for Balrampur in Dinajpur’s Kaharol upazila from Syedpur Airport at 10:15 am today. At 11:30 am, she will simultaneously inaugurate the canal digging program in the remaining 53 places of the country by digging the Sahapara canal. After the inauguration, she will distribute goats among poor and helpless families and then address a public meeting.
At 3:30 pm, Tarique Rahman will visit the graves of grandparents, aunts and uncles, including close relatives, at Faridpur graveyard in Dinajpur suburb. At 5 pm, he will participate in an Iftar and Doa Mahfil after the Dinajpur Sudhi Rally at the city’s Gor-e-Shahid Boro Maidan. Prime Minister Tarique Rahman will leave Dinajpur for Dhaka at 6:15 pm.
