Millions of Israelis have spent the night fearing a series of missile attacks from Iran. Many have had to give up sleep and rush to shelters, sometimes with little time to get there from home.
Israel’s radar system is believed to have been somewhat disrupted by the constant missile attacks from Iran. As a result, the ability to warn people in advance may be reduced. This may make it more difficult to quickly understand when a missile has been launched from Iran.
At least six missiles have been fired from Iran during the night. At the same time, sirens have been repeatedly sounded from Lebanon due to the threat. Some drones have even managed to penetrate Israeli defenses and enter the country.
Israel has warned that Iran is sending new types of missiles – specifically those with warheads that break into pieces after detonation. Israel also claims that the Lebanese militant group Hezbollah has developed a new long-range missile. Two days ago, one such missile hit the Beit Shemesh area near Jerusalem, where many military installations are located. The incident has sparked renewed concern among the Israeli public.
