At least two people were killed in an Iranian missile attack in central Saudi Arabia. Among the dead were a Bangladeshi and an Indian. 12 were injured.
The Qatari news agency Al Jazeera reported this information on Monday (March 9). The report said that a building in a compound in Al-Kharj Governorate, Saudi Arabia, was attacked. Saudi Arabia’s Civil Defense Agency confirmed this information in a post on social media X-A. However, no detailed information was given in this regard.
Al Jazeera’s Doha correspondent reported that the missile hit a residential building of a maintenance and cleaning services company. Authorities said that emergency services immediately arrived at the scene after the attack. There they began working in accordance with government-approved procedures. They claimed that attacks on civilian installations are a serious violation of international humanitarian law.
Earlier, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said that it had targeted radar systems in various places including Al-Kharj in Saudi Arabia. It is reported that two people were killed in Al-Kharj. Meanwhile, Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit has strongly criticized Iran. He said that Iran is carrying out reckless attacks on Arab League member states. It is noteworthy that since the US-Israeli attack on Iran began on February 28, Iran has been retaliating against countries with US bases in the Middle East. Iran has also attacked Saudi Arabia at various times.
