The huge amount of money that America spent in 24 hours to attack Iran
The United States spent an estimated $779 million in the first 24 hours of the attack on Iran. This huge amount is equivalent to about 0.1 percent of the entire US defense budget for 2026. The operation, which began last Saturday (February 28), involved the extensive use of B-2 stealth bombers, F-35 fighter jets, nuclear-powered aircraft carriers and Tomahawk cruise missiles.
The US Central Command confirmed that four B-2 stealth bombers flew non-stop from Whiteman Air Force Base in Missouri, USA, to attack Iran. The cost of these bombers alone, which includes flight time, maintenance and the cost of the 2,000-pound JDAM bombs used, is about $30.2 million. In addition, the cost of several attacks and maintenance of advanced fighter jets such as the F-22, F-35 and F-16 increased by another $271.34 million.
The use of specialized aircraft such as the EA-18G Growler, MQ-9 Reaper drone and aerial refueling tanker, as well as land-based Hymers batteries, brought the total cost of air and ground assets to $423.57 million. The daily operating costs of the two aircraft carriers deployed at sea, the USS Abraham Lincoln and the USS Gerald R. Ford, are about $15 million. In addition, video footage analysis showed that the Navy fired about 200 Tomahawk cruise missiles, with an estimated market value of $340.4 million. In total, the cost of this one-day war stood at $779.174 million.
