Baltic dry index hits 2-week high ahead of Chinese New Year holiday
The Baltic Dry Index surged by 0.6% (17 points) to a two-week high of 2,100 points on 16 Feb’26 against 13 Feb. Iron ore and coal demand strengthened ahead of the Chinese New Year holidays, while chartering activity in the Atlantic Basin improved.

- Capesize: BCI gained 0.9% (28 points) to 3,209.
- Panamax: BPI rose 0.5% (8 points) to 1,785.
- Supramax: BSI increased 1% (12 points) to 1,198.
