Pakistan’s non-coking coal imports declined 24% m-o-m to 0.5 mnt in Jan’26 from 0.66 mnt in Dec’25, largely due to lower demand. However, imports rose 61% y-o-y from 0.31 mnt in Jan’25, reflecting increased procurement needs. South Africa remained the leading supplier at 0.43 mnt (down 4% m-o-m), followed by the US at 0.06 mnt, which re-entered the market after nil shipments in Dec’25.
