Tarek, Shafiqur and Nahid ahead in their respective constituencies in Dhaka

The top four leaders of BNP, Jamaat-e-Islami, NCP and Bangladesh Khelafat Majlis are contesting in four separate constituencies in Dhaka. An organization called ‘Sawchar-Niratna Watchdog Bangladesh’ has conducted a survey in their constituencies. According to the survey results, the leaders of BNP, Jamaat and NCP are ahead in their respective constituencies. And the head of Bangladesh Khelafat Majlis is lagging behind his rival in his constituency. On Saturday (February 7) afternoon, the organization’s president and assistant professor of North South University Shibbir Ahmed presented the survey results at the BDBL building in Karwan Bazar in the capital. Among others, BDJobs.com CEO AKM Fahim Mashrur were present at the event.
According to the survey results, BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman, candidate for Dhaka-17 constituency, Jamaat Amir Shafiqur Rahman, candidate for Dhaka-15 constituency, and NCP convener Nahid Islam, candidate for Dhaka-11 constituency, are ahead. And in Dhaka-13 constituency, BNP candidate Bobby Hajjaj is ahead of Khelafat Majlis’ Mamunul Haque. The Watchdog for Torture and Abuse Bangladesh said that opinions of 2,241 people were randomly collected from 4 constituencies in Dhaka from January 30 to February 3.
Tarique Rahman in Dhaka-17 constituency: A survey was conducted with the information of 515 voters in Dhaka-17 constituency. One question was – which candidate can win this constituency? 46.4 percent answered Tarique Rahman and 27.4 percent said Jamaat candidate S.M. Khaliduzzaman. Another question in the survey was – who would they vote for if the election were held today? 35 percent answered Tarique Rahman and 32 percent said they would vote for Khaliduzzaman.
Shafiqur Rahman in Dhaka-15 constituency: A survey of 514 voters in Dhaka-15 constituency asked who is likely to win. In response, 49.2 percent of voters think Shafiqur Rahman will win. And 32.5 percent think BNP candidate Shafiqul Islam Khan can win. When asked who they would vote for if the election were held today, 39.5 percent said Shafiqur Rahman and 30 percent said they would vote for Shafiqul Islam Khan.
Nahid Islam in Dhaka-11 constituency: A survey conducted on the data of 606 voters in Dhaka-11 constituency said that 45.7 percent of voters think Nahid Islam will win and 40.6 percent of voters think BNP candidate MA Qayyum.
Bobby Hajjaj in Dhaka-13 constituency: A survey conducted on 606 voters in Dhaka-13 constituency showed that when asked who is likely to win in this constituency, 42.6 percent of voters said BNP candidate Bobby Hajjaj will win. Maulana Mamunul Haque will win, 39.6 percent think.
Tarique Rahman can become the Prime Minister
The survey asked more than 2000 voters who can become the Prime Minister. In response, 42.1 percent said Tarique Rahman and 34.9 percent said Shafiqur Rahman. The survey data shows that 91.1 percent will vote in the next election. Jamaat has more votes among those under 35 years of age. And among those over 35 years of age, BNP is slightly ahead, but the ratio of votes with Jamaat is almost equal.
