Postal voting for prisoners begins today

Postal voting for prisoners has begun today. It will continue till February 7. The Election Commission (EC) announced this information at noon today, Tuesday (February 3). The Election Commission has provided postal voting facility to prisoners for the first time. On the instructions of the EC, prison authorities have also made preparations for this. Earlier, the Election Commission started sending postal ballots within the country from January 6.
The EC said that the ballots should reach the returning officer by 4:30 pm on the polling day. If it reaches after this, the votes will not be counted. The names of the candidates along with the symbols will be present in the internal mail. 1.533 million expatriates from the country and abroad have registered to vote by postal ballot. Half of them are within the country. It is to be noted that the 13th National Parliament Election and Referendum will be held on February 12. Voting will be held without any interruption from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm.
