2 killed in Dhaka-Mawa Expressway accident
Two riders were killed in a motorcycle accident on the Dhaka-Mawa Expressway. The accident occurred at 11:30 am today, Tuesday (February 3) in the Keotkhali area of the expressway. The deceased were identified as Arif from Mugda area of Dhaka and Mamun from Faridpur area.
Deputy Assistant Director of Munshiganj Fire Service Muhammad Shafiqul Islam said that a motorcycle accident occurred in the Keotkhali area of the Dhaka-Mawa Expressway. The two riders died on the spot. Members of Srinagar Fire Station recovered the bodies of the deceased and handed them over to the police for further legal action. The exact cause of the accident was not immediately known. However, initially excessive speed and careless driving are being considered as possible causes of the accident. Although the accident disrupted traffic on that part of the expressway for a while, the situation was later normalized with the help of law enforcement agencies.
