BNP-Jamaat clash over election campaign, 6 injured

A clash took place between BNP and Jamaat leaders and activists over election campaign in Medua Union of Daulatkhan Upazila of Bhola-2 constituency. At least 6 people from both sides were injured in this. The injured were given primary treatment. The incident took place at 11:30 am today, Tuesday (February 3) in Munshirhat area of ​​ward number 8 of Medua Union of Daulatkhan Upazila of Bhola.
Locals said that Jamaat-e-Islami and Chhatra-Shibir leaders and activists had been campaigning in different areas of Medua Union since morning. When they reached Munshirhat area, they had an argument with leaders and activists of local BNP and its affiliate organizations. At one point, BNP leaders and activists got into a scuffle with Jamaat leaders and activists. At least 6 people from both sides were injured in this.
Locals said that leaders and activists of Jamaat-Islami and Chhatra-Shibir were campaigning in different areas of Medua Union. When they reached Munshirhat area, they had a verbal altercation with leaders and activists of local BNP and its affiliates. At least 6 people from both sides were injured in this. Daulatkhan Police Station OC Md. Saiful Islam Sikder said that after receiving the information, the police, navy and coast guard brought the situation under control. Currently, the situation is calm.
