People’s Insurance PLC hands over insurance claim cheque
BBS News Desk: Insurance is a relationship of trust, and timely and accurate claim payment is the most effective way to strengthen that trust. Through today’s event, we have been able to reiterate our commitment, transparency and service standards to our customers. These were the speakers at People’s Insurance PLC’s “Insurance Claim Payment and Business Meeting with Policyholders” event held at the conference hall of Hotel Orion International, Jessore yesterday. At the event, a cheque of Tk 17 lakh was handed over to Md. Hasib Emami, proprietor of M/s Nawab Store, Nilganj, Tantipara, Jessore, for a fire insurance claim.
The event was presided over by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of People’s Insurance Company, Zafar Ahmed Patwari, and the Company Secretary, Sheikh Md. Sarfaraz Hossain, FCS. In his speech, he said that insurance plays an important role in financial security, risk reduction and social development. However, in many parts of the world, especially in developing countries, people’s understanding and participation in insurance remains limited. Today’s event will show that various stakeholders in the insurance sector are raising social awareness through various activities aimed at increasing insurance literacy, acceptance and trust. Our aim is to conduct social awareness activities to inform the public about the importance of insurance and its scope. Increase insurance enrollment in government and private schemes. Improve the claims process by creating transparency and trust. Include marginalized traders in the use of insurance. He sincerely congratulated the claimants and expressed hope that the company will continue its customer-friendly, transparent and responsible activities in the future. He highlighted the guidelines issued by IDRA and requested all insurers and all policyholders to take up policies as per the rules and regulations.
The event was inaugurated by the Head of Jessore Branch Office, Md. Rezaul Islam, who extended his greetings and congratulations to the President, claimants and all the invited guests. The event was also addressed by the Company’s Consultant, M. H. Khaled, Chief Insurance Claims Officer, Engineer Ashiq-ur-Rahim. The Company’s Former Chairman, Abul Bashar, Khulna Branch Head, S. M. Mizanur Rahman and most of the leading businessmen and entrepreneurs and senior officials of various banks.
