Jamaat Ameer pledges to stand by people despite adversity
Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said, I have not left you even in the most adverse circumstances. I will not leave this country or any of you in the future either. He said this while attending an election rally at Chauddagram Upazila Ground on Saturday (January 31) morning.
The Jamaat Ameer said, people want to see change after the 13th. That change will come based on the aspirations of the youth, based on the aspirations of mothers and sisters. He further commented that people do not want to see any more domination. He further said, “Don’t think that you will touch our mothers, and we will sit and watch.” The party Ameer warned against all these.
Stating that propaganda is being spread in the name of Jamaat, he said, “If we come to power, we will close Qaumi Madrasas, expel Imams and Khatibs—but these are lies.” He added, “We want to build a society where everyone is safe. And we will warn extortionists, give them a chance to reform, and if they don’t do well, they will have to pay a heavy price.”
