Husband and wife did not return home together
A motorcyclist named Tarini Barman (40) was killed in a head-on collision between a tractor and a motorcycle in Dinajpur. His wife Iti Barman (35) was injured in the incident. The accident occurred at 9:30 am today, Wednesday (December 17) in the area adjacent to the Komarpur Battala intersection of Sujalpur Union on the Birganj-Pirganj road in Birganj Upazila. Tarini Barman is the son of Jitendra Barman of Ruhila village of Bhognagar Union of the upazila.
Locals said that the husband and wife were going to the upazila headquarters from their home on a motorcycle in the morning. On the way, they had a head-on collision in the area adjacent to the Komarpur Battala intersection. Tarini Barman was killed on the spot. His wife Iti Barman, who was with him at the time, was seriously injured and was rescued and admitted to the Upazila Health Complex.
Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr. Afroz Sultana said that the injured Iti Barman’s condition is critical and he has been sent to Dinajpur Medical College Hospital for advanced treatment. Birganj Police Station OC Md. Saiful Islam confirmed the casualties in the accident.
