Fascism will not be allowed to rise in any way: Khulna Range DIG

Khulna Range DIG Mostafizur Rahman said, “Fascism will not be allowed to rise in any way. The police will be stricter in suppressing fascists.” He also said that there is no fear surrounding August 5 and 15, the police will be in the field with all necessary preparations.
The DIG said these things while addressing a meeting with journalists working in Jhenaidah yesterday (August 3) afternoon. This meeting was organized by the district police at the conference room of the Jhenaidah Police Superintendent’s office at the initiative of the district police. The meeting was presided over by Jhenaidah Police Superintendent Mr. Mia Mohammad Ashish Bin Hasan.
Reiterating the government’s ‘zero tolerance’ policy on drugs, the DIG said that the police are fully prepared to implement this promise of the government. If any police member is involved in drugs, action will be taken against him. Dope tests will be conducted and if found guilty, he will be dismissed. No concessions will be made regarding drugs. The police force will not take responsibility for any misdeed of any person.
Stating that instructions have been given to the police superintendents to strictly suppress robbery and banditry, he further said that only officers with honesty, efficiency, competence and responsibility towards the society will be appointed. In addition, instructions have been given to arrest the accused within 24 hours to prevent violence against women. He further said that the police have taken coordinated steps to guide children and youth towards good deeds.
Regarding information sharing, he mentioned that in this era of free flow of information, rumors can spread if correct information is not given on time. Therefore, the police officers on duty have been instructed to quickly provide correct information to the media. The right message should be conveyed to the people by maintaining the free flow of information.
In his speech, Jhenaidah Police Superintendent Mia Mohammad Ashish Bin Hasan said that the Jhenaidah District Police has taken extensive initiatives to control terrorism, drugs and social conflict. A group of robbers and thieves has already been arrested. He also said that strict action will be taken against those spreading hatred and rumors on Facebook. Highlighting the manpower crisis, the Superintendent of Police said that only 1,668 police personnel are working to protect about 2 million people in the entire district. Efforts are being made to provide maximum service with this small number of police.

Additional Superintendent of Police Sheikh Billal and senior officials of the district police were present at the meeting. Hossain, Additional Superintendent of Police Mushfiqur Rahman, Additional Superintendent of Police Mahfuz Hossain and Assistant Superintendent of Police (Shailkupa Circle) Akhtaruzzaman were also present at the meeting.
