2 people die of dengue, 423 new patients admitted to hospital
Two people have died of dengue in the last 24 hours. At the same time, 423 dengue patients have been admitted to various hospitals in the country. This information was given in a press release regarding dengue sent from the Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services on Sunday (August 2).
It said that among the patients admitted to hospitals due to dengue in the last 24 hours, 154 are in Dhaka division, 36 in Mymensingh division, 49 in Chittagong division, 81 in Khulna division, 29 in Rajshahi division, 16 in Rangpur division, 54 in Barisal division and four in Sylhet division.
A total of 16,104 people have been admitted to hospitals across the country as of August 2 this year. Two people have died of dengue in the last 24 hours. A total of 56 people have died of dengue this year. A total of 14,930 dengue patients have recovered and been discharged from the hospital so far this year. Currently, 1,118 people are undergoing treatment in the hospital. From January 1, 2025 to December 31, 2025, a total of 1,286 people were infected with dengue and a total of 413 people died.
From January 1, 2024 to December 31, 2024, a total of 1,1214 people were infected with dengue and a total of 575 people died. From January 1, 2023 to December 31, 2023, a total of 1,705 people died. In addition, a total of 321,179 people were hospitalized due to dengue.
