Credit for July Uprising does not belong to anyone alone: Rizvi
BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said, the credit for July Uprising does not belong to anyone alone. It is the result of the joint efforts of all political parties, students, people and the common man. He said this at a discussion meeting on the contribution of nurses in July at BMU on Monday (August 3) afternoon.
Rizvi said, if Sheikh Hasina had not been ousted and the July movement had failed, many of us would have been hanged. He also said, the July Uprising was the final explosion of a long 17-year movement and struggle. Even the July Revolution is no less than the Paris Revolution.
Rizvi urged NCP leaders not to follow Sheikh Hasina’s political culture or path. He said, political culture must be improved. Despite so much oppression and torture, we did not say bad things. At that time, the Prime Minister’s political assistant Rashed Khan said that the NCP is running on the brains of Jamaat. He further commented that while a government can be formed on Facebook, it cannot run a state.
