Motorcyclist killed, 1 injured in bus accident in Madaripur
A motorcyclist named Ashiq Akon was killed in a collision with a passenger bus in Madaripur. Another young man on the motorcycle was injured in the incident. The incident took place at around 9 pm on Saturday (August 1) in Dhaulgram Bazar of Dasar Upazila.
The deceased Ashiq is the son of Jalal Akon of Dhaulgram area and the injured Ramzan Bepari is the son of Sohel Bepari of Baligram in Dhuwashar. According to police sources, Ashiq was returning home from Madaripur city on a motorcycle at night with Ramzan. When they reached Dhaulgram Bazar area on the way, a passenger bus coming from the opposite direction ran over them. The motorcycle was twisted and the two riders were seriously injured.
At that time, locals rescued the injured and took them to the Madaripur 250-bed District Hospital, where the doctor on duty declared Ashiq dead. After providing first aid, the injured Ramzan was admitted to the hospital. Madaripur Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abul Kalam Azad said that legal action will be taken after verifying the truth of the incident.
