Husband accused of killing wife in Sirajganj

A husband has been accused of beating and killing a housewife named Tania Khatun in Tarashe, Sirajganj. The incident took place on Tuesday (July 28) morning in Bishmadanga village of Desigram union of the upazila. The accused husband Shah Paran has been absconding since the incident.
The deceased Tania Khatun (24) is the daughter of Chorhab Ali of the village and the wife of Shah Paran, a resident of Araihazar upazila of Narayanganj district. According to local and police sources, Tania Khatun and Md. Shah Paran got married about 4 years ago after falling in love. Since marriage, Tania has been living with her husband in her father’s house in Bishmadanga village.
The deceased Tania’s father, Sorhab Ali, has alleged that Shah Paran had been torturing Tania since marriage due to a family dispute. There was a fight between the husband and wife on Monday night as well. Later, Tania and her husband went to sleep in their bedroom at night. This morning, family members found Tania’s body lying on the floor of the house. At that time, Tania’s husband Shah Paran was absconding. Later, they informed Taras Police Station. Upon receiving the information, the police quickly reached the spot and recovered the body. Taras Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Habibur Rahman said, “Upon receiving the information, the police went to the spot and recovered the body. There were injury marks on the body of the deceased. Initially, it is being considered a murder. The body has been sent to the morgue for autopsy.”
