BigMint’s billet index extended its upward trend, rising by INR 550/t d-o-d to INR 39,150/t exw-Raipur.The conversion spread between pellet-based direct reduced iron (PDRI) and billets for standalone induction furnaces in the Raipur cluster narrowed further to INR 13,550/t.

Indian sponge iron prices witnessed a strong uptrend at the beginning of the week, with prices increasing by INR 300-600/t. BigMint recorded around 16,000 t.
BigMint’s domestic end-cutting scrap index, tracking the Mandi Gobindgarh market, strengthened by INR 200/t. In Mandi, the spread between end-cutting scrap and billets stood in the range of INR 4,300-4,700/t.
