Attacks suspended at Iran’s request, attacks will resume if no deal: Trump
US President Donald Trump has claimed that the US has temporarily suspended military strikes on the country at Iran’s request. However, he also warned that if the two sides cannot reach a new ceasefire agreement, the attacks will resume.
Speaking to reporters on Air Force One last Monday (July 27), Trump said, “They told us very politely, ‘Please stop the attacks, let’s sit down and talk.’ Now we’re at that point. Let’s see what happens! If there is no deal, we’ll go back to the way things were.” The US has given this pause after a series of attacks on Iran for almost two weeks. At the same time, the Trump administration is also examining what the next military action against Tehran could be.
Earlier, according to a CNN report, US Vice President J. D. Vance and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Dan Kaine expressed concerns about the expansion of military operations. They feared that a long-term campaign could put a strain on US arms and ammunition stocks.
